every volunteer
makes a difference
Volunteering at our ReStore means becoming a Habitat for Humanity volunteer. Becoming a Habitat volunteer comes with great rewards and responsibilities. Volunteers are representatives of Habitat for Humanity and our mission. In addition to complying with all laws, regulations and Habitat for Humanity policies, all volunteers are expected to follow Habitat’s Code of Conduct.
Complete this form to express your interest in volunteering. Note the days and times you are available for volunteering and why you want to volunteer. We can accommodate most needs regarding community service requirements, but please submit this form at least a full week in advance of when you want to volunteer.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteer positions in the ReStore include helping with donation intake and processing, sorting items, repairing items, stocking, picking up donations (via our ReStore truck), housekeeping, taking photos of donations, helping to create welcoming displays of items, graphic design for advertisements and more. If you have your own transportation and are interested, we may ask you to deliver printed information to various places around our community. We will work to find the best role or task for you in our ReStore family if you let us know what you are interested in.
See how volunteering at the ReStore can help in your career development.
Also see this video about volunteering on our YouTube channel that gives highlights of what it’s like to volunteer in our ReStore in Forest Grove, Oregon. You are also encouraged to view this two-minute video regarding how Habitat for Humanity values volunteering.
We regularly post specific volunteer roles on VolunteerMatch. Some of these roles include:

Greeter/Helper
Be Our Strong Person: help us load & unload items from our truck or customers' cars
Literature Wrangler (help regularly organize the ReStore book room)
Wrangler for our sports & camping equipment
Take Product Photos
Make fun, creative short videos that promote our ReStore
We have additional volunteering opportunities with West Tuality Habitat for Humanity.
In addition to viewing our our video about volunteering at the ReStore on our YouTube channel, volunteers at the ReStore are required to view this nine-minute video about safety in a Restore and also this 10-minute video from Habitat for Humanity International regarding our commitment to creating an environment with zero tolerance for harassment for volunteers, staff and clients. If you volunteer with us, we count all of this video viewing time and any discussion that might follow as 30 minutes of volunteering for the ReStore.
